 INDUS VALLEY  CIVILIZATION  (2700 BC - 1900 BC)   SINCE the civilization flourished on the banks of river Indus. The people who started this civilization lived near the Indus river. that's why the civilization is named on the name of the river and known as the Indus valley civilization.  There are a lot of questions related to the origination of this civilization but there are lots of theories and opinions related to its origin which states that people are not clear and exact about its origin. WHAT  IS  HISTORY?       The study of the past is called History. The English word 'History' is derived from the Greek word 'Historia' meaning research, inquiry, or investigation. Thus, the knowledge acquired by the investigation is known as 'Historia'.  The Greek historian Herodotus (484BC- 425BC) was the first real historian of the world. he wrote only one book 'the Histories'. Herodotus was the father of history. According to British Historian E.H.Carr (1892-1928AD): " History is an unending dialogue between past and present."
